FanDuel
The Pulse
Thump-thump. Thump-thump.
Overview
To create a cohesive user experience, I worked on aligning the card UI with the design standards of other cards across the platform. This included introducing a fixed height for the cards and determining an appropriate maximum depth for displaying 3 or 4 legs, ensuring visual consistency and clarity.
Branding
With the introduction of a refreshed logo identity, updated color scheme, and modern background patterns, I led the effort to apply this new branding across all Pulse-related content. This work ensured a seamless experience for users in both light and dark modes, reinforcing the brand's presence and creating a visually appealing, recognizable interface.

Goal
Blend the visual and technical elements of FanDuel's new live betting feature to bring The Pulse to life.
I wasn't working at FanDuel when this project started. But by the time I was briefed to step in, the team had branding for a new feature (The Pulse) but they were having trouble putting the elements together — Logo, color combos, additional design elements to build excitement and drive engagement — with a card design that would house bet narratives and straight bets to parlays up to four legs long.
Working with Constraints
When I started on the project we already had card dimensions of 300h × 144w for the smaller card, and 340h × 144w for larger cards.
I had branding elements but no brand identity. So I started by identifying the right font size for the text within the card and a set of keywords to identify the general themes we wanted The Pulse to be associated with.

Voice
Four themes guided every design decision — ensuring the visual language would feel as electric as live betting itself.
